One thing for everyone to remember... don't let ANYONE tell you "you can't." Of course, life isn't fair, and you're definitely going to meet someone who'll say "you can't" ; but please, don't let that "someone" be YOU. The foremost and final authority in building self-confidence is the self. When the self gives up, cofidence will cease to exist. Dreams can't be chased by having someone else chase them for you. Don't expect a 24/7 supply of well-wishers to give you the push. You are your best well-wisher. The spark should be ignited within you by YOU.

But of course, I don't follow this advice myself. And that's precisely why I am publishing this too. Because I know the consequences of not doing so. I know what happens when you give up. I know what happens when someone else tells you "you can't" and you either agree with them voluntarily or you have no other choice but to agree. In my case it was both. I had no other choice but to agree with the agressor after a spate of arguments and convincing-sessions. But I am also am guilty of telling myself "you can't convince them any futher." And I gave up. Just like that. Now, I have my first serious regret of my life. You know, the kind of regret that keeps toying with your mind all time. The kind of regret that drives you to tears - and of course, since I can't emote, instead of filling my eyes, the tears fill up my insides and rott them over. Its the kind of regret that keeps reminding you that your present life AND the rest of your life would be completely different and my existence it self would have a whole new meaning if I'd done the right thing. The right thing was to do what I thought was right, and NOT GIVE UP. The right thing was to just follow a simple dream. Shouldn't be difficult, should it? The right thing was to follow my heart. But now, the time is gone. Turns out that dreams don't last forever. Chase them when you can see them.
